Cautious was built by Dixon Kerly at Maldon as a four berth boat with a quarter berth to starboard which the designer designated as a Queen Bee, a layout plan in the owner’s possession clearly shows this. They may have been built for a hire fleet in the 1960′s.
Bob Purvis of Harwich, a shipwright and uncle of the current owner oversaw the restoration of Cautious to what looks to be an excellent standard. She sailed from the Tyne to the Thames via the Caledonian canal in 2010.
